Hold the cute pieces up against the sides to be sure that they will fit, then use them to cut identical pieces out of the solid cardstock.

Teacher Favor Jar
Artist:
Jessica Barnett
Estimated Time:
0.5
Difficulty:
Beginner
Step-by-Step Instructions
- Start by measuring the inside height of the jar and cutting a strip (or strips) of the school themed paper to fit. Place these inside the jar (you may need more than one depending on the circumference of the jar and whether or not there’s a gap left after you put in the first piece).
- To measure the length of ribbon needed, wrap a piece around the jar and trim so that it’s just long enough to overlap about an inch. Run this wider ribbon through the Xyron 2.5" create-a-sticker, then apply to the outside of the jar.
- Use the same method for measuring to cut a piece of ribbon to wrap around the outside edge of the lid. Run this piece through the Xyron 1.5" create-a-sticker and apply to the lid.
- Measure a scrap of paper to fit the width of the clip, then cut it to length. Run this piece through the Xyron 1.5" create-a-sticker and attach to the outside edge of the clip. Trim if necessary. Attach the small strip of Xyron Magnet Tape to the bottom of the clip so it will stay in place on the metal lid.
- Tie the short piece of ribbon to the smallest point on the binder clip’s two metal pieces. They should stand straight up, and will hold the label on top of the jar.
- Cut an oval shape out of a scrap piece of cardstock. Cut out another shape to layer on top of the oval. Here we used an apple shape to keep with the school theme. Attach the shape to the top of the oval using the Xyron 3/8” Adhesive Runner, then slip the whole label into the binder clip.

Pendaflex Mail Sorter
Artist:
Jessica Barnett
Estimated Time:
0.5
Difficulty:
Beginner
Step-by-Step Instructions
- One piece of each paper should be enough to cover both ends of this sorter, but you can use more than one sheet for a different look if you prefer. Begin by tracing the shape of each end of the sorter onto the wrong side of the paper. There is a lip around the edge of the front and back, so you’ll be cutting about ¼-1/2 inch inside the lines you draw.
- Use the scissors to cut out your pieces and then trace the shapes onto the cardstock. The cardstock pieces will need to be shorter than the patterned paper pieces, and you can trim the bottom off of them using the paper trimmer. Run all of your pieces of paper through the Xyron 5" Creative Station and attach them to the inside and outside of the front and back covers.
- Punch three 2” circles from your scrap papers. Ink the edges of your scrap papers and the letters for the front of the sorter. Run the inked letters through the Xyron 2.5" create-a-sticker and attach them to the front of the sorter.
- Use the paper trimmer to cut a strip of paper that is one inch wide and as wide as the box. Ink the edges of this strip with the black ink pad, then run it through the Xyron 1.5" create-a-sticker and attach it to the front of the box.
- Run the paper frills through the Xyron 1.5" create-a-sticker after trimming them to the desired length, then attach them to the sorter. Use different numbers of adhesive foam dots to attach the inked circles to the front of the sorter in the bottom right hand corner.
