Step-by-Step Instructions
- Use your circle template to cut the largest circle possible from your 12" x 12" piece of paper. If you don’t have anything large enough, you can use your ruler and pencil to measure out from a smaller circle to get the size you need, or you can draw a large circle using a piece of string and a pencil, just hold the string in place in the center of the page with the pencil tied to the end and pull the pencil around the paper to get your shape.
- Use one of these methods or a large template to get the largest circle possible out of your 18" x 18" piece of paper.
- Trace and cut with scissors. Use your gold pen to draw a ring around the edges of each circle. This is just to add a little extra detail and doesn’t need to be perfectly even.
- Use the 2” and 3/8 inch adhesive runners to attach the smaller circle to the top of the larger circle.

Step-by-Step Instructions
- Measure the four sides of the box and the top of the lid using the ruler. Trim one piece of patterned paper to fit the top of the box. Trim another piece of paper so that you have two pieces that are the height of the front and back of the box, and add at least two inches to the width of each. (These pieces will wrap around the sides and be covered with overlapping paper to be sure that all parts of the box are fully covered). Trim the last piece of paper so that you get two pieces to fit the sides of the box. Run all pieces through the Xyron 9" Creative Station.
- Attach the piece to the top of the lid making sure to center it and trim away any excess. Next, attach the front and back paper pieces, wrapping around that extra paper to the sides. Attach the side pieces last, overlapping the paper from the front and back of the box. Wrap a piece of ribbon around the lid to measure for length, you will want it to overlap slightly in the back. Trim the ribbon to length, then run it through the Xyron 1.5" create-a-sticker.
- Attach the ribbon around the edge of the lid, covering up any rough edges on the paper and folding the ribbon in on itself to give the corners a mitered look. Take a scrap piece of ribbon and cut it to a length that will allow it to show from behind the label you have chosen. Attach the ribbon to the front of the box using the Xyron 3/8" Adhesive Runner.
- You only need to use adhesive in the center of the ribbon to allow the ends to lift away from the box. Use your letter stickers to spell out the desired phrase for the front of the box and attach them to the label. Adhere the label to the front of the box using adhesive dots.

Floral Covered Fabric Album
Artist:

Difficulty:
Intermediate-Difficult
Step-by-Step Instructions
- Run all fabric thru the Xyron Creatopia using the fabric adhesive. With the adhesive side up carefully remove the adhesive backing from both pieces of fabric to be used for the back cover.
- Overlap the larger piece of fabric onto the smaller piece of fabric by .5”. Lay the pieces of chipboard in the center of each fabric. There should be about 1/8” or ¼” gap between the two pieces of chipboard. This is how the book will open and close correctly.
- Fold fabric over chipboard and rub with the edge of the bone folder for a smooth finish. Take care to fold in corners first. Repeat for front cover.
- Cut two pieces of cardstock to cover the inside of the front and back covers. Run them thru the Xyron Creatopia using the permanent adhesive and adhere to inside front and back covers of book. OPTIONAL: Run the cut pieces of cardstock thru the Creatopia Patternz or Border Patternz to emboss a design before applying adhesive. This will add an extra decorative touch to your special book.
- Punch evenly spaced holes in the center of the front and back cover spine edges using the heavy duty hole punch. Cut your miscellaneous paper to fill the book to the size(s) you want and then line up with the holes in the cover and punch. Depending on the thickness of your book and type of paper you may need to repeat this step several times.
- After lining up all of your cover and paper edges thread the holes with ribbon to secure the book. Tie a bow to finish or knot the ribbon and tie beads to the end of ribbon. There are many ways to finish off your ribbon.

Teacher Favor Jar
Artist:
Jessica Barnett
Estimated Time:
0.5
Difficulty:
Beginner
Step-by-Step Instructions
- Start by measuring the inside height of the jar and cutting a strip (or strips) of the school themed paper to fit. Place these inside the jar (you may need more than one depending on the circumference of the jar and whether or not there’s a gap left after you put in the first piece).
- To measure the length of ribbon needed, wrap a piece around the jar and trim so that it’s just long enough to overlap about an inch. Run this wider ribbon through the Xyron 2.5" create-a-sticker, then apply to the outside of the jar.
- Use the same method for measuring to cut a piece of ribbon to wrap around the outside edge of the lid. Run this piece through the Xyron 1.5" create-a-sticker and apply to the lid.
- Measure a scrap of paper to fit the width of the clip, then cut it to length. Run this piece through the Xyron 1.5" create-a-sticker and attach to the outside edge of the clip. Trim if necessary. Attach the small strip of Xyron Magnet Tape to the bottom of the clip so it will stay in place on the metal lid.
- Tie the short piece of ribbon to the smallest point on the binder clip’s two metal pieces. They should stand straight up, and will hold the label on top of the jar.
- Cut an oval shape out of a scrap piece of cardstock. Cut out another shape to layer on top of the oval. Here we used an apple shape to keep with the school theme. Attach the shape to the top of the oval using the Xyron 3/8” Adhesive Runner, then slip the whole label into the binder clip.

- Paint edges of the wooden plaques and allow to dry.
- Measure tops of the plaques and cut papers to fit.
- Cut the other papers and pictures to the desired sizes then use the sandpaper to rough up the edges of the papers and pictures, then ink the distressed edges.
- To join the plaques together and attach the ribbon that it will hang from, cut different lengths of ribbon. The ones I used to separate the plaques were about 6” long. I also cut 8 scraps of chipboard that were about 1” tall and as wide as the ribbon I used. I attached them to the ends of the ribbon using the Xyron 3/8”Adhesive Runner.

Pendaflex Large Paper Sorter
Artist:
Jessica Barnett
Estimated Time:
1
Difficulty:
Intermediate
Step-by-Step Instructions
- Use the ruler to measure the height of the side of the paper holder (allowing for a small border around the edge) and cut four of the pieces of paper to fit that height using the paper trimmer.
- Lay the paper holder on top of the trimmed pieces of paper and use a pencil to trace the curve onto the backside of the paper. Trim away the excess paper using scissors. Use these same methods to cut papers for the inside pieces, but be sure to remove them from the holder first and allow for extra space at the top and bottom of these pieces because they have to be able to fit back inside the slots of the holder.
- Use the Xyron 2” and 3/8” Adhesive Runners to attach the papers to both sides of the ends and middle dividers. If there is any excess sticking up over the sides, use a craft knife to trim.
- Run a piece of ribbon along the curved edge of the holder and cut to length. (you will need two of these pieces). Run the ribbon pieces through the Xyron 1.5" create-a-sticker and attach to the two curved end pieces. At the tightest parts of the curves, you will need to use your scissors to cut small slits into the ribbon so that it will lay flat on the plastic.
- Take the two flowers and fold them in half. This allows you to cover a bigger area with them and also makes them look fuller. Use dimensional adhesive dots to hold them in a folded position, then use more of the dots to attach them to the side of the paper holder. Use the dots one more time to attach the label on top of the flowers.
