Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Start by measuring the inside height of the jar and cutting a strip (or strips) of the school themed paper to fit. Place these inside the jar (you may need more than one depending on the circumference of the jar and whether or not there’s a gap left after you put in the first piece).
  2. To measure the length of ribbon needed, wrap a piece around the jar and trim so that it’s just long enough to overlap about an inch. Run this wider ribbon through the Xyron 2.5" create-a-sticker, then apply to the outside of the jar.
  3. Use the same method for measuring to cut a piece of ribbon to wrap around the outside edge of the lid. Run this piece through the Xyron 1.5" create-a-sticker and apply to the lid.
  4. Measure a scrap of paper to fit the width of the clip, then cut it to length. Run this piece through the Xyron 1.5" create-a-sticker and attach to the outside edge of the clip. Trim if necessary. Attach the small strip of Xyron Magnet Tape to the bottom of the clip so it will stay in place on the metal lid.
  5. Tie the short piece of ribbon to the smallest point on the binder clip’s two metal pieces. They should stand straight up, and will hold the label on top of the jar.
  6. Cut an oval shape out of a scrap piece of cardstock. Cut out another shape to layer on top of the oval. Here we used an apple shape to keep with the school theme. Attach the shape to the top of the oval using the Xyron 3/8” Adhesive Runner, then slip the whole label into the binder clip.
