Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Cut the stabilizer 3 inches larger than the size of the machine embroidery hoop. One dimension cannot be wider than the width of the machine.
  2. Run the stabilizer thru the Xyron Creatopia with Fabric Adhesive cartridge.
  3. OPTION 1: Cut a template of the hoop, to be used out of Xyron’s cartridge liner removed from previous projects, by first drawing an outline of the center of the hoop on the cartridge liner then removing it. Cut out center. With the template on the bottom and the stabilizer on top, run the template/stabilizer sandwich thru the Xyron Creatopia machine. Remove the backing paper. Adhesive will be on the center of the stabilizer and will prevent adhesive from transferring to the hoop when the stabilizer is placed in the hoop.
  4. OPTION 2: After you run the stabilizer thru the Xyron Creatopia with the Fabric Adhesive, trace the inside of the hoop on the cartridge liner. Carefully cut the center portion of the cartridge liner leaving the cartridge liner on the outside of the stabilizer. Place the removed liner on the adhesive to prevent adhesive transferring to the hoop when you place the stabilizer in the hoop.
  5. Following manufacturer’s directions, place the stabilizer in the hoop with the adhesive side up. Remove the backing from the stabilizer inside the hoop.
  6. Center the area to be embroidered in the hoop using the markings on the fabric
  7. Beginning at the center of the hoop, gently press the fabric to the stabilizer being careful not to disturb the alignment of the vertical and horizontal centering. Smooth the fabric to the stabilizer. Fabric may be repositioned several times to insure proper design alignment
  8. FOR HIGH KNAPPED FABRICS such as terry cloth towels, cut a piece of water dissolvable stabilizer the size of the hoop. Run the stabilizer through Xyron Creatopia using the Fabric Adhesive cartridge. Once the fabric is centered in the hoop and secured to the stabilizer, remove the backing from the water dissolvable stabilizer and place adhesive side down on the fabric smoothing the stabilizer to the fabric. You will have a three layer sandwich: stabilizer, fabric, stabilizer,
  9. Stitch the design
  10. When the design is complete, remove the fabric/stabilizer sandwich from the hoop. Either tear away or cut away the excess stabilizer from the back / wash away from front of the design.
