Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Run all fabric thru the Xyron Creatopia using the fabric adhesive. With the adhesive side up carefully remove the adhesive backing from both pieces of fabric to be used for the back cover.
  2. Overlap the larger piece of fabric onto the smaller piece of fabric by .5”. Lay the pieces of chipboard in the center of each fabric. There should be about 1/8” or ¼” gap between the two pieces of chipboard. This is how the book will open and close correctly.
  3. Fold fabric over chipboard and rub with the edge of the bone folder for a smooth finish. Take care to fold in corners first. Repeat for front cover.
  4. Cut two pieces of cardstock to cover the inside of the front and back covers. Run them thru the Xyron Creatopia using the permanent adhesive and adhere to inside front and back covers of book. OPTIONAL: Run the cut pieces of cardstock thru the Creatopia Patternz or Border Patternz to emboss a design before applying adhesive. This will add an extra decorative touch to your special book.
  5. Punch evenly spaced holes in the center of the front and back cover spine edges using the heavy duty hole punch. Cut your miscellaneous paper to fill the book to the size(s) you want and then line up with the holes in the cover and punch. Depending on the thickness of your book and type of paper you may need to repeat this step several times.
  6. After lining up all of your cover and paper edges thread the holes with ribbon to secure the book. Tie a bow to finish or knot the ribbon and tie beads to the end of ribbon. There are many ways to finish off your ribbon.
  7. Decorate cover as desired. Use the Xyron Creatopia to adhere all of your embellishments . It can handle items up to .5” in thickness. For small items use the Xyron 3/8" Adhesive Runner.
