I bought a 5" create-a-sticker Xyron. I was almost to the end of the original roll and the backing and clear adhesive/oversheet got all gummed up and the wheel wouldn't turn. I took it apart and cleaned the sticky adhesive residue off the inside. I tried to rethread the paper through the machine guessing how it goes and found I was at the end of the roll. I bought a 5" create-a-sticker Permanent Refill Cartridge and put it in and turned the wheel to advance the paper and nothing happens. The uptake bar is not attached to the sheet at all. You don't have any intructions on your website at all(that I can see). I see the creative machine which laminates and both layers come out of the front of the discharge slot. I don't see any for tthe sticker machines. Please Help.
The manual for the 5" create-a-sticker is located here on our website at: http://www.xyron.com/img/compel/chYACPQRfIEk-YI5fHpghzU_wElb7o0J.pdf and it explains how to install a refill cartridge.
It sounds like you don't have it all the way in. Pull it directly out and very firmly press it back in until it locks in.

I am so frustrated. I had the same problem with loading the cartridge into my 5 inch create-a-sticker machine. The directions on the cartridge say "Simply remove one cartridge and replace with another". That is a joke! I tried several times unsuccessfully to load the thing, then came on here and read this post - I went to the manual, which has similar not-helpful instructions. I followed the directions exactly - and the thing still isn't working. I have spent over 45 minutes trying to load the thing, and eventually ran out of the BRAND NEW 18 FOOT CARTRIDGE. I wasted an entire, brand new, $15 cartridge trying to figure out how to load the thing. I am frustrated, and I would like you to know that you need to include better directions for this machine. I have to go spend another $15 and try to figure it out again. If you have better directions, please let me know.
I have purchased TWO 5" create a sticker machines in the last 4 weeks. Both have the exact same problem. I took my machines back to the store (joanne) and they were unable to figure it out as well and did not have any additional create a sticker machines to give me. I LOVE this product when it works - but know I have spent over $35.00 EACH and have two machines that do NOT work. ps - Joanne did also not have any refills - not that I want to spend more money on this issue.
I took it out and inserted it several times. I even had my husband look at your "directions" and try inserting it. It is a quality control issue on the refill, I am sure of it. Also probably on the orignal machines due to other comments. I finally fixed mine because I really needed it and I have a mind that can work things out in 3 dimensions. I had to pull the sheet out and attach the clear layer to the take up reel while at the same time having the white come out the discharge slot. It has to be done without getting glue residue all over. Any residue has to be removed from the cutter bar or it can mess it up later. I've had this happen and had to rethread the machine. To do this I removed all the clear material from the uptake reel with a razor blade before cleaning all residue and rethreading it.
I really think customer service should play with these enough to find out what happens. You should also do what I've described and write an instruction for people who have this problem I salvaged my roll and I think customers would be happy to do the same.
I have called Xyron customer service and they are very helpful. If you are having problems they will replace your cartridge, ocassionally they do get a bad cartridge and have asked for mine back to see what the problem is so they can figure it out. 800-793-3523
It really is as simple as taking one cartridge out and placing the other (with the text facing you) into the machine. If you are not having positive results please call us at Customer Service:1-800-793-3523 or Technical Support: 1-877-392-9474 (8a-5p EST) we would love to walk you through it and help you if something needs replacing.
Thank you for your reply - but you see my current cartridges are almost full.
And - even when I take the cartridge out (of both my machines) and try to
turn the wheel.... it doesn't turn with out a crunching sound....as if the teeth of
the wheels are not right.
My two machines with nearly full cartridges are just sitting on my scrapbook table...
wish I could use them.
The Joanne Store manager where I purchased both my machines has not had another
machine or cartridge in stock for several weeks now....
I actually took both machines and cartridges in to the store (north canton ohio) where
the store manager was so kind and worked on both items for nearly one hour...
I have spent nearly $35.00 on each machine - I really don't want to spend more money
than I already have - but at this point I dont have a working machine - and I am in the middle
of scrapping my daughters senior year in high school -arghhhhhhhhh.
ps - i did call customer service - they told me to go register on your website??? - that is it.
your website kept erroring out - until finally I was able to register.
My Create a Sticker does occasionally make a grinding sound from time to time with thicker papers and that is normal. However, if its doing it all the time even with regular scrapbook paper then the gears in the actual machine may be stripped or broken. Putting thicker materials through it will cause this. The create a sticker machines are intended for use with regular thin paper. If you are using thicker materials you may want to consider upgrading to the Creatopia as it is meant for thicker items. I even put small skeletons and large jewels through the Creatopia - its awesome.
You can also call us at tech support as I mentioned earlier and we will definitely get it figured out for you. I know how you feel I've got to get my son's senior year done too!
I called customer service because my sticky paper and the white paper came apart after my daughter tried to use it. I told them the problem and they said it couldn't be fixed. It was broken, that's that. I asked, "Are you serious? There is no way to fix it?", Reply "No", "So i just threw away $15 then???" And she replied, "Yes".
Really makes me want to continue using these products when I figured out how to fix the cartridge myself with no help or even a simple diagram on this site.
NOT impressed with the customer service at all!!!! By the way, I called today around 4:30pm EST if you guys keep track of calls.
That just happened to mine and I am having the hardest time trying to figure out how to fix it... Could you give me a pointer... I have been trying to fix it for like an hour and it seems that I am messing up each time.
Please email me at tech support and I'll do all I can to help you get it working: firstname.lastname@example.org

After reading your instructions, I easily popped my replacement cartridge into my machine. Back to creating I go! :)
