Negative space as a stencilUse the negative space created by cutting shapes or titles with either
the Wishblade® Personal Media Cutter or the Xyron® Personal Cutting
System.
-
After cutting a shape or a title remove the letters or shapes for
another use. If needed, trim around the stencil leaving at least 1
inch around.
-
Using a repostionable adhesive on the under side of the stencil,
position the stencil on your page, card or other projecxt. Press
firmly around the inside edges of the stencil then, using ink, chalk
or paint, DAB up and down to create the stencil effect. You can use
stencil paint and a stencil brush if you have it. Another option is to
use a clean Versmark stamp pad and press on the stencil itself to ink
the space. You can remove the stencil if desired and chalk, giving a
haloed effect.
-
Keeping the stencil in place while chalking will give a sharper look,
but the edges will still be soft.
-
Using a soft ink pad like a Colorbox Catseye pad, dab directly on the
paper, then when dry remove the stencil and repeat as needed. To use
paint, fill your sponge or brush, dab off any excess paint, then dab,
dab, dab until the desired effect is achieved. Remove the stencil when
the paint is still slightly moist so the stencil doesn't stick to the
paper when dry.
